Over the past week or two whilst I've been looking at slow responses and ping spikes especially late afternoon and evening, I've noticed that when things are really bad i.e. TBB and Ookla tests fail to complete or are very slow, the BTW Speedtest always runs and reports no problems and returns what are 'normal' speeds for me at about 35 down and 6 up.
Has anybody else noticed this when testing?

It suggests that the route to the BTW tester is avoiding the parts of the network that are congested. I don't know how the BTW tester is implemented but it could be avoiding PN's peering links. Possibly it's just sitting 'right outside' PN's network. The other testers are sitting inside someone else' network so could have several more hops to negotiate.

Now if you actually to the full test and use the BTW login that will avoid all of PN's network.
