DOS Attack

Hi All,

Don't know where else to report this, but I am being bombarded with DOS Attacks from the following IP Addresses, attacks are approx. every 5 minutes.

2019/09/17 08:32:00 -- [DOS][Block][trace_route][64.74.133.81->my IP Address][ICMP][HLen=20, TLen=44, Type=8, Code=0]
 2019/09/17 08:32:02 -- [DOS][Block][trace_route][64.74.133.80->nn.nnn.nnn.nn][ICMP][HLen=20, TLen=44, Type=8, Code=0]
 2019/09/17 08:32:03 -- [DOS][Block][trace_route][64.74.133.84->nn.nnn.nnn.nn][ICMP][HLen=20, TLen=44, Type=8, Code=0]
 2019/09/17 08:32:05 -- [DOS][Block][trace_route][64.74.133.87->nn.nnn.nnn.nn][ICMP][HLen=20, TLen=44, Type=8, Code=0]

Started early this morning and is continuing.

Re: DOS Attack

You'll see a lot of this, you are not the only one getting these. Someone has nothing else to do with their time and your IP address happens to be in the range they are using today. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. But what you could is turn off your router for about 10 mins or so just to give their script time to realise that there's no one there.

However, if you're on a dynamic IP then when you turn things on again you may well end up with another IP that is yet to be targetted. The luck of the draw I'm afraid @RRM .
