We've spotted a strange upstream link issue this morning and have made some changes that seem to have had a positive effect (at least based on our monitoring).
Some of our test circuits still exhibit problems (notably the 51.6.0.0/16 DNS issue), however I'm keen to hear if what we've done has improved things for any of you folks at all?

I'm also no longer seeing tcp retransmissions when running a packet trace and the routers along the way don't seem to be dropping packets

Packet loss seems to have resolved. Can now also connect to my Exchange email - previously this was just hanging and taking forever.
Xbox One also seems to be working better.
Note - am using Google DNS.

Well things aren't bouncing back and to now everything seems to be sorted, however considering the 'outage' of services for us these past weeks it's not going to be forgotten any time soon

No packet loss at the moment and my home camera is streaming once more so it looks fixed for now.

Thanks for the feedback. Fingers crossed but seems promising.

... a further change seems to have remedied this one too (certainly based on my own testing).

Mine has got worse again, I'm still on 80.229.* ip address but as the day has gone on my packet loss has got worse and worse, many websites simply do not respond. The laptop I have been using as actually reported the internet dropping throughout the day even though the router has stayed connected.
Edit: In fact my internet is now pretty much dying on its [-Censored-]. Speed test fails to complete, packet loss tests fail to complete. What they hell are you doing???

If it worked fine but somebody did something and it stopped working surely it wouldn't take long to see why it now didn't work?

Still no difference for me I'm on the 51.6 ip I used to be on 192.168 until two weeks ago...
You won't have been assigned a 192.168 address by Plusnet because 192.168.0.0/16 is a private IP range.
, Xbox can't connect to ip now and is unplayable, Internet is slow in loading any pages and pretty much nothing has worked for about a week.
I can see literally hundreds of disconnections on your line over recent days. I would suggest reporting a fault:

I can't see any issues with that traceroute. My traffic takes a similar route, albeit starting from our L2TP network, and my Xbox One connects etc. without issue?

I'm not sure what relevance the Teredo address has? I wouldn't expect this to cause issues. What router are you using? It looks like it's running DD-WRT. Do you have an off the shelf device you can try using?
@splont, I'm not 100% convinced your problems are related to any of the issues we've been working on. For you, issues only seemed to start on the 15th and seem to be affecting you whether you are assigned a static IP or not i.e. you have problems whether you're routed through our 'old' or new broadband networks. Are you experiencing these issues when using a wireless connection? Do the problems go away if you connect the laptop to the router using an ethernet cable?
