DNS/Routing issues for the last 36 hours

For the last 36 hours i have been having serious DNS/Routing issues, many websites will just time out or load really slowly whereas others work fine, for instance facebook is slow as hell and if i try to upload any photos they just error out, twitch.tv mostly times out on the rare occasion pages will load but very slowly and this happens with many websites.

Yet my line stats are normal and when downloading files im getting 4.4MB/s so it's not an issue with my line, i have rebooted my router and that made no difference.

Re: DNS/Routing issues for the last 36 hours

I've got the same issue so i feel your pain. Started about 2am on the 8th after disconnecting from any site/xbox yet blue light remained on hub one and taking 30 mins to bring back any service. Facebook and Fifa ultimate team on xbox one seem to be main problems for with multiple failures to load. Speedtests come back absolutely fine and nothing being found when i rang the faults team for diagnostics. Driving me mad!

Even on the forums and website i've had issues at random since

I see same issue, looks like there is some packet loss on 195.166.143.137 (137.hiper04.sheff.dial.plus.net.uk)

Re: DNS/Routing issues for the last 36 hours

Having the same problem here, trying to play World of Tanks is a nightmare as im having massive lag spikes.

This all started friday morning after the net went down at around 1am-ish which i presumed was for the routine maintenance and ever since web pages are not loading fully and gaming is a nightmare.

Re: DNS/Routing issues for the last 36 hours

Pinging the address gives a 100 percent fail rate. Good effort.

Uploading photos to Discord is also being affected by this issue.

Re: DNS/Routing issues for the last 36 hours

Same issue here, noticed it on Friday morning and logged a support ticket with Plusnet yesterday but haven't heard anything back yet.

I've run a packet trace whilst trying to access the sites, I can see many tcp retransmissions, eventually the site normally does load but often with some of the webpage images missing and the progress circle in Chrome still spinning

Since packets are getting through to later hops that may simply mean that particular router is too busy to respond. Or maybe it's been configured never to respond. It's curious but doesn't in itself mean there's a fault.

Re: DNS/Routing issues for the last 36 hours

Aha, glad I found this thread. Thought my router was up the fritz. Smiley I too am having DNS issues - sites that I've been to recently seem unaffected, but going anywhere I've not been in a while (or ever) takes forever to resolve.

Any idea if and when this likely to be resolved please?

Re: DNS/Routing issues for the last 36 hours

When I spoke to a faults agent he believed the issue was linked to a BT network fault in certain areas so check if your area is in list under "broadband and email" tab and click first one..

My area was listed under it in all fairness but description does such suggest t/loss of broadband and telephone so god knows.

Loss of Broadband and Telephone services

Re: DNS/Routing issues for the last 36 hours

OMFG ive just been on the phone with tech support and was prompty told it must be my wireless as no faults could be found and my connection was stable. This after the fact i told her i was on a wired connection and i knew my connection was stable but it was something to do with the routing of traffic to me that was the problem - to which i got the response "let me check to see if your router is within its warranty"......

Ive now been sent an email with a list of steps to do which i knew will not resolve the problem. (Ah the email says the check the phone socket etc even though this only started happening after the disconnect after the maintenance grrr)

quick edit just seen this https://community.plus.net/t5/Gaming/Teamspeak-amp-Gaming-Issues/td-p/1348426 and can confirm my ip starts with 51.xx. Anyone else here able to confirm this problem?
