Been on FTTC for some time. I have a Sam Knows box installed, and was looking at the stats for the first time in some weeks. I've noticed that (like many others here) my download speed has been on a gradual decline, decreasing from around 67Mbps a year ago to the high 50s now. However one of the measurements doesn't look right and this is the DNS Response Times.
As you can see from the attachment this had typically been in single digits but had a step up to the low teens at the start of this year and again to the high 20s in a huge step at the beginning of March.
I'm using the standard plusnet DNS addresses. Any suggestions for improvements? Must admit not had any of the household occupants complaining about poor internet speeds (have PS4 and online game players in the house but they are in GCSE mode so not as active as usual with their games).
Thanks - Kevin

For reference here is the chart with my download speeds. As you can see, the spread between max and min speeds has got bigger in a similar timeframe to the increase in DNS response times. Can't see how this is related but who knows....

Take a look at the UDP latency report - I suspect that this will show the same trend.
Looks like the effect of G.INP to my untrained eye...

Just to chip in here (as I like these kind of stats) my SamKnows box reports a rather flat line for UDP latency between 12 and 15 ms since December 2014 (when I got it) and then produces the attached image for the DNS graph!
I have OpenDNS configured rather than Plusnet's, but very intrigued to know what happened on the 20th March!

I'll swap with you!
The question is, do I have a fault here or is this business as usual at BT/PN Towers?
