Could someone escalate this to 2nd-line support please!

Re ticket no 200527466

Hi there, hope everyone is well.

Last Sunday, 29th March at 1230 something catastrophic happened to my Plusnet internet.

If it’s relevant, I’m on the Prestwich exchange, (MR-PRE).

I would characterize it as a traffic shaping, but I’m not at all convinced it is intentional; rather, it seems like a routing issue somewhere.

Let me tell you what is working normally first.

Skype, I can make video calls for hours with no problem

Zoom, Apart from taking a minute or so to log in, I can conduct multiple participant  video conferencing with no problem.

WhatsApp again working normally

Google websites are generally working normally and loading instantly including Google Web search, Google Groups Maps/Streetview, Photos, the list goes on.

Gov.uk sites work normally.

I’m not a user of social media, but clearly they are a bench-mark

Instagram works normally, but see below about other SM brands.

This clearly isn’t a VDSL issue!

So what’s not working?  The majority of websites, including plus.net. This forum is just about responsive enough to let me post this if you can’t see this post I was wrong 😉

My online banking https://www.rbsdigital.com/ is totally unresponsive and is causing me serious issues

Other banking websites likewise,

https://www.lloydsbank.com/online-banking/home.html

https://personal.natwest.com/personal.html

https://www.barclays.co.uk/

Oh and Facebook and Twitter, not that I care.

My VoIP/SIP phone system is unusable

The FTP server I use is unreachable

My USENET activity has stopped; I can’t reach news.eternal-september.org

I called support at 0900 yesterday Thu 2nd Apr and spoke to a very nice lady who listened patiently to me but unfortunately did not go beyond her 1st-line support script of filters, master sockets, and WiFi.

If anyone is interested, I have some interesting stats from f8lure that includes the moment this all began, (I was using my own CPE at the time).

So please could this be escalated to someone that cares?

Fix

Bad form to reply to oneself etc, but...

...sometime this morning the issue disappeared and I can now get on with all my stuff.

If this was the result of intervention by PlusNet staff, then thank you.

If it wasn't, thank you anyway.

Regards,

Graham.
