Constantly having to pair devices and gaming is sometimes unplayable

My TV, laptop and other devices need to be paired regularly and sometimes it takes several attempts as it fails a lot. Also when playing online computer games it becomes unplayable. Call of duty is the worst but not the only game to have problems. Updating large game files also takes forever. When I do a speed test on the PS4 it can be as low as 500kbs, other times its 25mbs. I have tried most channels and made sure nothing else is downloading at the same time. The PS4 is only about 10 feet from the router so that should not be an issue. I think that it is probably a problem with the router its self as opposed to the internet dropping out. I have done an online search and it does seem to be a common issue.

Re: Constantly having to pair devices and gaming is sometimes unplayable

A friend of mine has just pointed out that my router is on top of the fridge and that it has been known for fridges to interfere with the signal. Has anyone else ever had this problem. I am going to move it tonight and see if that helps.
