Constant 80mbit connection 0 errors now a 74mbit ip profile stuck

Hi we had major work done at the bottom of out road last year to an underground duct cable which fixed a joint that had been worked on 20 plus times. This resulted in a rock solid 80mbit down 19999 up connection with 0 downstream errors on a 5.5db profile.

The connection has steadily got worse since april this year and we now suffer random disconnection's and a loss in speed meaning dlm has kicked in several times and interleaved upstream and downstream ( our line is g.inp enabled on a huwei cabinet and we use a billion 8800axl broadcom modem for maximum reliability and speed )

the ticket given is

These are my current stats on the modem

we can't sync any higher than 74mbit now and the ip profile seems to be locked much lower also meaning slower throughput.

Here is what the line is capable of being and when the uptime on the line was 154 day's 0 disconnections

Re: Constant 80mbit connection 0 errors now a 74mbit ip profile stuck

And here you can see the snr starting to go crazy.

Had over 15 bto people out in the past year or so and it's always the joint underground that fail's as it get's water in so a normal bto engineer can't help.

Can someone run a GEA test on this line please and show the ip profile as btwholesale speed test obviously doesn't work still.

Thank you

The GEA test is timed stamped the 4/6 two weeks ago so it's not going to show any current issues.

Re: Constant 80mbit connection 0 errors now a 74mbit ip profile stuck

Is there any chance of an update and possibly a new up to date gea test as I’m showing es errors on the upstream and can’t connect at anything about 74mbit now despite the modem showing a max sync of 79-80

Re: Constant 80mbit connection 0 errors now a 74mbit ip profile stuck

I apologise for any confusion caused by the profile timestamp, this has no bearing on how current the sync speed is that shows on a GEA test.

I've checked on some other systems and found that the current profile is banded at 74Mbps, however with the current sync being 70.8Mbps, the banding wouldn't be keeping the speeds this low.

I'm raising a request to see if we can get this removed, however with the current sync being a few Mbps below the banding, I can't be confident this request will be accepted.

Re: Constant 80mbit connection 0 errors now a 74mbit ip profile stuck

My current sync is not 70mbit it’s 74 and as shown my line when working right does 80mbit with ease error free.

Current stats off my billion modem are here

As you can see I’m getting Es errors which were not there until the past month when the line started to deteriorate.

So I’m banded at 74 as my snr shows I can connect at 79999 and that’s at 6.5db

Re: Constant 80mbit connection 0 errors now a 74mbit ip profile stuck

Hi @empty,

Thank you for getting back in touch. I'm sorry to hear that you're still experiencing problems with errors on your connection. I've tested your line but the test still isn't picking up the cause of this from here:

If you've not done so recently, please can you run through the troubleshooting checks here here: http://goo.gl/p2tpvL If these checks don't resolve the problem, the next step would be to connect your router directly to the test socket, which is under the faceplate of your master socket and seeing if the connection stabilises. This rules out internal wiring, face plates and extension sockets as being the cause. Please see the following guide for instructions on how to connect to the test socket. https://community.plus.net/t5/Library/Testing-From-The-Master-Socket/ba-p/1322242

Please let us know if the issue persists after these checks.
