Re: Connection Problems

Are you seeing these problems with a wired connection to the hub or on a wifi connection?

Re: Connection Problems

It may be worthwhile running through the process at https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/getting-the-best-wifi-signal/ to see whether that helps.

If your neighbours are using wifi their signal may interfere with yours. The hubs are supposed to pick the best channel to use automatically but that doesn't always happen and sometimes one needs to select a different channel manually.

Please let us know how you get on.

Re: Connection Problems

OK, that means it is not a wifi problem. What does http://dslchecker.bt.com/ say for your line?

And what package has Plusnet sold you? Unlimited fibre (which would be up to 40/10) or unlimited fibre extra (which would be up to 80/20)?

You mentioned earlier that someone had mentioned 20 up speed. That would be consistent with unlimited fibre extra. If that is what you were sold then there is an issue with your connection (or Plusnet sold you the wrong package). If you are on 80/20 and if the dsl checker says that your line can handle more than you are getting, then I suggest reporting a fault using the online system at https://portal.plus.net/apps/kbdfaults

Re: Connection Problems

Thanks for posting that. You, clearly, are on fibre but it is not showing in your post. I think that is because you used your post code rather than checking your specific telephone number. If you could check the specific phone number please people will have a better idea of your situation. If you post results from the test, leave off the bit that shows your telephone number itself.

Another bit of useful information might be for you to go into the router and see what speeds it is syncing at. If you have a Hub One use a web browser and go to 192.168.1.254.   Navigate to Advanced Settings -> Broadband -> Connection.

It would also be useful to know which package you are on. If it is the fibre unlimited extra - 80 down 20 up - then I would expect you to be getting better than you are reporting.

One final thought: we are customers here, for the most part, although some Plusnet support people are active and may pick-up on your posts. If they do, they are usually very helpful. But if you prefer not to be dealing with all this in public on the forum then I suggest using the online system to report a fault. Or, of course, 'chat' or phone Plusnet.

But do, please, tell us how things come out.
