Connection Performance

Hello 

 

I have been with PlusNet for about 8 months now, it's been a bit of a mixed performance. 

Anyway I digress.

 

 

I currently use an:

 

ECI Telecom (Serial Number: ECI-J333197719) Open Reach Modem.

TP-LINK TD-W9980 N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit VDSL2/ADSL2+ Modem Router 

I have recently updated the firmware on the router.

However I seem to have these general problems:

 

Occasionally the orange Internet light will turn on, on the router and I will loose internet access whilst it seems to redial (turn blue again). It takes about 30 seconds but is still annoying.

 

I find that webpages seems to take too long to load and egg time when they are trying to load.

When I am going ping tests, its almost like they freeze for a few seconds before given the response times.

 

If I ping the bbc.co.uk website I get these results:

My laptop is the only laptop on the network and nothing is downloading. 

Does anyone else have this rotuer and having problems?

Does anyone else use this modem and havng problems? (How can I run diagnostics on the modem?)

 

I also have my Plusnet Router so will plug that in and post back her results.

I  don't want to have to use my Plusnet router as I rent out my spare room and want guests to stay on a private network.

Hi Paul.

Testing your line isn't finding any issues.

How'd it go with using the Hub One instead?

I spent ages trying to figure out the problem first using my work laptop then my own laptop which are both Dell E5450's and they both have the same network cards. I couldn't figure out why my home laptop was dropping the ping commands whilst the work laptop was keeping getting no time outs. 

 

I eventually just deleted the wireless drive on my home laptop and ever since then its worked ok. 

I will keep at eye on it thanks!
