Being some 800m from the cabinet I've never had great upload speed; typically about 3.6mbps at 5.8dB.
But over a week ago Openreach dug big holes and a channel into the house behind us - presumably either replacing or repairing something. Since then dslstats has been reporting:
Max: Upstream rate = 4554 Kbps, Downstream rate = 27152 Kbps
Bearer: 0, Upstream rate = 3644 Kbps, Downstream rate = 27321 Kbps
...
Down Up
SNR (dB): 6.1 7.7
My BTWholesale profile for upstream is 10mbps. How long will DLM wait to increase the upstream? (I'm G.IMP with an HG612 and Huawei cab).
What error stats would be significant here?

The BT IP profile will always report as the max upload speed achievable depending on what service your on (E.g. 40/10 or 80/20) regardless of your sync rate.
Your current profile is "0.128M-40M Downstream, Retransmission Low - 0.128M-10M Upstream, Retransmission Low" and the sync speed is 3.6.

Have you tried re-syncing the modem?

DLM doesn't order any changes based on changes to attenuation or SNR. It merely alters line profiles based on the error rate.
In this case, you need to resync manually.

Well that improvement didn't last long ...
Max: Upstream rate = 3710 Kbps, Downstream rate = 26692 Kbps
Bearer: 0, Upstream rate = 3757 Kbps, Downstream rate = 27519 Kbps
...
Down Up
SNR (dB): 6.1 5.7
*edit* Maybe this has something to do with G.IMP being turned off for upstream in the last day or two ...

I'm reluctant to add this to my open ticket 106720964 as I gather that pushes me down the queue.
For much of this year all was good - for an 850m line with aluminium/copper mix I was happy with around 5mbps upstream / 29mbps down which is close to the BT availability checker estimate
But over the last month SNR dropped, and following an enforced resync upstream is awful and a whole block of tones has disappeared.
This has happened several times before and OR never find anything wrong. They just try to blame crosstalk or REIN and wash their hands of the problem.
How bad can REIN be before OR take proper action? Last time one engineer said all they can do is drop a postcard at the property they suspect but if the owner doesn't reply they can't do anything.
What does the blue "other" mean in the tone map if it's not upstream or downstream?

That's not supposed to happen any more.

Bumping tickets won't push them to the back of the queue anymore. That was sorted a few months back.
With regards to REIN unfortunately technically it isn't a fault BT are responsible to fix. They'll investigate as a gesture of goodwill and aim to find the cause however they cannot force the owner of the faulty equipment to replace it.
