Cannot Reconnect After Powercut (CHAP Authentication Failed)

Today I had to unplug the router (plusnet hub one) to rearrange wires and since then I cannot connect.
The router shows I have a DSL connection but every time I try to connect I get 'CHAP Authentication Failed'.
I have tried re-entering the login and pressing reset, which changes the login to setup@plusdsl.net (which connects successfully but I cannot go online). Changing the login back after this still does not work.
I have also tried a full reset of the router and changing the password online (and then on the router too).

Called up support today and got it sorted.
Not sure what caused the issue though
