Just rechecked my line IP profile after my router was reset externally???? and it has increased to 50.25 with the hub showing 52.51 would there be a problem somewhere or does it naturally slow down then a reset is required or is the router going faulty

Hi @Gandalf & @bobpullen
It appears that the router has been reset yet again I think the 3rd time this week and I do no know why. This reset has reduced my line IP profile to 46.5 from 50.5 my router is set at (see below) looking at the rest of the forum the number of IP reset requests seems to be increasing ????
Connection Information
Line state: | Connected |
Connection time: | 0 days, 07:20:26 |
Downstream: | 46.9 Mbps |
Upstream: | 14.1 Mbps |

@mort7890, this is nothing to do with your IP Profile. The reduction in your IP profile is a direct reaction to the fact that your connection has dropped and your router has reconnected with a data/sync rate of 46.9mbps. An IP profile of 46.5mbps is perfectly normal in this scenario (if anything, it's a little high).
If your line keeps dropping and resynchronising at different data rates then you would nedd to go the normal fault route to get that resolved.

My IP Profile has now dropped to 40.7 so my D/L is down to 37.11 which is below what I should be on (80-20) and on going through the fault checker I get to the point, can I connect to the internet (Yes) or is the B/B slow (not really) it is just that my IP Profile has dropped from 55 to 40. Perhaps the area is in overload but just want technical to know.

That's below what you should be receiving so I would suggest reporting it as a slow speed fault if it's causing you problems.

Currently not causing me problems, currently property sold subject to contract so will probably wait, unless it gets worse, till we move, but will keep you updated.

@mort7890 at that time of night, the reset could have been the dynamic line management systems making a change. Or planned engineering works, although there's nothing reported in your area.
The other possibility is a spike of noise/interference that caused your modem to lose sync.
Nothing we can see this side will conclusively tell us the cause.
