Cabinet 'High Demand' - any point switching to Plusnet?

Tried ordering FTTC from BT but no joy - our cabinet is High Demand (I.e. full I guess). Plusnet website says I can have FTTC if I order. Is the Plusnet website correct?

What does this site say if you enter your phone number http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/ ?

Waiting list apparently.

There has been some discussion on the forum about Plusnet putting people on the waiting list but that means you have given them your money and no guarantee when the FTTC upgrade would happen. If at all.

The waiting list is only valid for 3 months (I believe) so it may just be better to check on the DSL Checker regularly (daily even) and as soon as it is available then order.

I'd recommend going with this option. While you'll be able to sign up an account, we won't be able to get you on to fibre until dslchecker shows available as opposed to waiting list.
