Re: Buffering

Sorry about that rongtw!
I can't see any similar issue for your connection I'm afraid so it is a bit of a mystery as to why your connection is buffering.
The only thing I can suggest trying is a direct connection to the Openreach modem to rule out the Netgear as being at fault.

Re: Buffering

@ricke17
In your P2P client have you set a maximum upload speed. I'd suggest an absolute maximum of half of your upload sync speed.

I have tweaked the P2P client so the upstream runs slower.  But some clarity would be useful for me (and others who are following this thread).  When my upstream hits 2MB/s does this mean I am using almost all of the 20 out of my 80/20?  And would it be the same when the downstream hits 8MB/s in respect of the 80 out of the 80/20?

Your post suggests you might be mixing up bits and bytes.
2MBs (bytes per second) = 16Mbps (bits per second) which will indeed mean you are using almost all your upstream.

Re: Buffering

If the setting is in bytes try 1MBps first, if that doesn't improve things try 512kBps.

Re: Buffering

It is in kB/s - so is 1024kB/s equivalent to 1MB?
Sorry it's all confusing.

Re: Buffering

Yes, that is correct (well nearly - there is a small difference between the K and the k prefix (and the m and the M prefix) but not significant with what we are looking at here).

Re: Buffering

Yes, they are serving only 21CN so you're more likely to hit one. 20CN are only on the older AGs.

Re: Buffering

Ok as per the title , i play BF4 mainly on a few Favorite servers, Just lately have been having terrible time playing on 1 "Alcohol Is The Answer"  IP 85.236.100.102:19967  based in london Multiplay.co.uk.
A friend asked Multiplay Via a TICKET  Shocked  what the problem was , their answer was the server wasnt the problem it was the ISP routing ?? causing me to have packet loss , even though i hopped gateway am now on PTW-AG03 it still the same  Sad

Multiplay is telling porkies, just a 3min trace yet seeing regular spikes to 500ms plus and the odd bit of loss

Re: Buffering

That result I don't get too BBC on ptw-ag03, but I no longer get the spikes and loss on multiplays either now that its very off peek.  Last night I would have said it was solely a multiplay fault but maybe not seeing your trace to BBC this morning.  I would report a fault and link it to this thread, as your BBC trace is very wrong.
