Broadband speeds and ping terrible

Hi

I am continually seeing poor broadband speeds and also high ping times.

This isnt a wifi issue as this happens even when I have a direct wired connection to the router.

The speed in the afternoon and evening drops to around 5 to 6 Mbps. and the ping response at around 190mS and upwards.

It is causing continual issues with poor signal when I am making voice Skype or Teams calls with work and it makes my voice render as quite robotic (video calls are even worse).

Is there anything that can be done to resolve my speed and response?

Thanks,
Gorodn

Re: Broadband speeds and ping terrible

The complaints code of practice is linked at the bottom of every forum page.

However before you go there, have you followed the troubleshooting guides or reported a fault?

Simple things to check, is your line quiet?

What speeds does the DSL checker say you should be getting?

Are you plugged into the test socket?

What speeds is the router reporting on the Help Desk tab?

Are you connected via WiFi or cable?

Re: Broadband speeds and ping terrible

Hello guys,

Together with our network partners at Openreach we are prioritising customers who don’t have a phone line or broadband connection, meaning there might be a delay in Speed Faults being fixed.

In the meantime, we would ask that you raise your speed fault online at faults.plus.net.
