Broadband Speed dropped drastically this morning

This morning my Broadband Fibre speed has dropped from around 37mbps to 1.34mbps

I have tried turning off router and restarting but no difference, checked PN service Status, no problems showing, checked BT Exchange faults, again nothing showing.

Any ideas anyone before I raise a ticket?

Re: Broadband Speed dropped drastically this morning

Still the same slow speed today, have raised a ticket but all that shows is...

Your support request has been escalated to the correct team for review.

Not sure exactly what this means or how long it will take.

In the past when I went on this forum with any problem I used to get quite a few helpful ideas on how to fix but now it seems that is no longer the case.

I am a little confused that my Hub connection shows

Downstream: 39.95 Mbps
Upstream: 1.998 Mbps

But the BT and other various speed tests show - Download around 1.14Mbps and Upload about 0.07Mbps

Which seems to be the correct speeds as any streaming videos keep buffering which didn't before.

Re: Broadband Speed dropped drastically this morning

Thanks for your input Milopita, however I have found my problem, I remembered I had changed the Mbps input on Killer Network Manager a while ago, thought I was doing the correct settings, I only did this as Windows 10 flagged it up for some reason.

When I reset it to the default readings my speed went back to how it should be, I don't really know what the purpose of Killer Network Manager is for...Undecided

Hope you get yours sorted...

Re: Broadband Speed dropped drastically this morning

Killer Network Manager can do that to you yes!

The idea of the program is to help you prioritize traffic that needs to have full bandwidth (Gaming traffic, Skype, Browsing) and despioritize traffic that doesn't need full bandwidth (email, dropbox, update checkers). On a slow connection it can be useful, on a fibre connection it shouldn't really be necessary at all, unless you are downloading Terabytes of torrents or something.
