I've had a patchy weekend with Zoom Video breaking up so I thought I ought to test the speed. It's terrible.
I can usually exceed 20 Mbps (the Fibre Cabinet is 1km away)
Just got the attached report saying 461Ms Latency and only 1.84Mbps Download

As always the first question if you don't spell it out has to be is this yoir broadband speed measured using an Ethernet cable between your hub and computer or possibly a wireless problem?

Yes. A wired connection through the latest BT Smart Hub 2 Router.
Speed check later in the evening showed a return of speed so it really is intermittent. And now this morning after a slow start the speed is good.
I didn't mention that OpenReach were down the road last week pulling through Fibre for FTTP. Have they pulled on flaky joints?

Router has lost connection several times today. Sometimes it comes back up with adequate speed but now running slow again with high ping delay. See attached

Plusnet have called out OpenReach because the "GEA Test" shows...
Impairment in copper joint detected most likely close to customer premises. Please continue to submit a trouble report |
