Broadband Speed Dropped to 10mb from 80mb Third Time

Im on 80MB and for the third time its suddenly dropped to 10 mb last time they connected me for some bizzare reason to a different box further away so my speed just dropped right off ... Im getting sick of it. I have two mobile phone contracts land line and broadband im so frustrated I feel like throwing the towel in on all of the contracts.

Re: Broadband Speed Dropped to 10mb from 80mb Third Time

Hi @vince

I'm really sorry to see you're having intermittent speed issues.

Testing your line is showing an infrastructure fault on our suppliers network we'd need to arrange an engineer visit to resolve.

Can you raise a fault to us at faults.plus.net and in the notes box at the end, please tell us when you'd be free for an engineer visit. The available timeslots are weekdays (and occasionally Saturday's) 8am while 1pm, or 1pm while 6pm. This means we'll be able to arrange an engineer straight away once we've picked the fault up.

Feel free to post back once you have raised it and we'll make sure it is picked up as soon as we can.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

Re: Broadband Speed Dropped to 10mb from 80mb Third Time

Hi there thanks for your reply ...very quick I’m impressed... Anyway last night I noticed the router flashing so I knew it had started to reboot itself and when it came back on the speed was back to normal and the telephone was plugged in. So I’m not sure about the infrastructure fault if that is still there, but it seems to be working fine at the moment. My usual approach to these things is if it’s not broken don’t try and fix it . What’s your advice…….? Just see how it goes. The fault that you have identified, what detriment will it be causing now or as we move forward ...Thank you.

Isn't that line banded at 74M?

Re: Broadband Speed Dropped to 10mb from 80mb Third Time

Hiya @Shep41, thanks for your message. It does look like the line is banded yes, likely caused by the fault on the line.

If still banded once the fault is cleared, we can then send that off to be reset.
