Broadband Circuits - 80Mbps or 40 Mbps?

When I signed up to Plusnet - speed range was quoted at 40 - 52 Mbps - having a max speed of 28 Mbps, BT Openreach have been to take a look at the line. His view is that, we are approx. 800m from the fibre box, but a 80 Mbps circuit deteriorates rapidly above 300m, so 28 Mbps is about the best I can get - one option was to ask to switch to a 40 MBps circuit, which does not drop off much until 1000m - so I may get as good, or perhaps better speed on a 40 Mbps circuit than 80, given my distance from the green box - any thoughts on that?

Re: Broadband Circuits - 80Mbps or 40 Mbps?

That's the first time I've heard anything like that.

We could move you onto our 40mbps product however this would drop your upload speeds to around 2mbps and we can't guarantee you'd see a improvement.
