Blocked site?

Hi,

Trying to access the website

http://svn.apache.org

through Firefox (52.9.0 ESR), or Chrome (67.0.x) and I get

"Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at svn.apache.org."

yet when I go through a website unblocker site (e.g http://unblocksites.co/) to get there it works.

Are PlusNet/BT blocking this site for some reason?

I can ping it (IP is 209.188.14.144), just cannot get web access (or SVN access for that matter).

No problem here accessing that site. Using Chrome Version 62.0.3202.94.

Works fine also. Google Chrome Version 67.0.3396.99 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Hi,

yes, I'm well aware that people elsewhere can get it. But that gets me no closer to working out why it is inaccessible here.

I can SVN to many other sites. I have no problem accessing web on other sites.

I have disabled all Firefox addons (and dont have any on Chrome).

I have tried turning off PN "Firewall" on PlusNet One hub.

None of that makes a difference.

Bit of a long shot, but could be a GeoIP issue? You can check if your IP is listed as a UK IP here

Great accuracy on that link.  Apparently I'm located in a garden shed in Dronfield?  Not even close.

GeoIP is notoriously inaccurate, but it should at least show the correct country!

My IP is listed, and as being in the correct city, at least.

Hello @ajsoft,

Sorry to hear you are having problems accessing this site. We can see that you have had the same IP since being connected. So that we can rule this out can you please turn off the router for 70 minutes to push a new IP address, and try again.

Please let us know how you get on.

@SammyM Yes, this fixed the problem. Apache are blocking that previous IP. Thanks

If you have a note of the IP address before, if you could post it here I'll maybe feed it back to Apache "svn.apache.org" and get them to remove that block, since it could be handed out to anybody.

The IP address you've had previously was 31.185.212.100
