Bitorrent capped at 1 meg?

I am trying to download several large linux iso files and the connection doesn't go any faster than 1meg?
Are you now capping bitorrent protocol?

In fact scrap that, over all speed is going nowhere above 4meg!
Whats going on?

Is that 4 Mb/sec or 4 MB/sec?

Its the equivalent ofr a 4Meg connection roughly downloads at a max of 500K/Sec

BitTorrent traffic is not capped, just tried downloading a torrent and maxed out my line without any issues!

Nope shouldn't be limited. You got your receiver port open? I have had full speed down on a Mint torrent before now, also check you aren't limiting the number of connections too much.

It depends on whether seeders are capping their uploads.

I presume you have set a limit on the torrent upload speed? If too many people are downloading from you and you haven't limited it your download speed will be compromised.

Thanks for the replies, it became a general issue regarding throughput overall.  It turned out it wasn't just bitorrent that was affected, browsing and download from the web also.
Since been reported and ticket raised but thank you for your help

Can you confirm that with bitorrent totally closed (i.e. no uploading) you still see the issue?
