Below Guaranteed Speed again!

Hi,

Just checked my router speed and looks like its been dropping again since I had issues back in this post:

https://community.plus.net/t5/Fibre-Broadband/Fibre-speed/td-p/1701721

Back under the profile yet again! Whats the point of paying for "extra" when I don't even get it?

  • Minimum Guaranteed Speed: 37.1Mbps
  • Current Line Speed (Download): 36.8Mbps

BT test:

Download Speed (Mbps): 34.46
Upload Speed (Mbps) : 7.97
Ping Latency (ms): 20

Cannot do any further test on BT site to check the profile and its messed up. Anyone have a look at this?

Thanks

Re: Below Guaranteed Speed again!

Hi @S65v10, thanks for getting in touch and I'm sorry to hear you're having speed issues as of recent. Together with our network partners at Openreach we are prioritising customers who don’t have a phone line or broadband connection, meaning there might be a delay in Speed Faults being fixed. In the meantime, please raise your speed fault online at faults.plus.net.

Re: Below Guaranteed Speed again!

Dear Mr Iqbal,

Thank you for the forum message, and I am sorry to note the inconvenience.

Upon testing the services, I identified no known external faults and a stable connection speed of 38.3mbps against the advertised minimum of 37.1mbps.

So that you can view the test results, I have created this online thread: https://www.plus.net/wizard/?p=view_question&id=202317139

Our contractual obligation to connection speed is specific to Ethernet, which is the cable supplied with the router. The above test results therefore show that we are meeting our contract promise.

Although we cannot guarantee a minimum WIFI speed due to external factors beyond our control, some of our customers have found value in stabilising the signal by changing the router channel, as covered in this video tutorial: https://youtu.be/b8CDfkR4wZU

For the most accurate speed reading, we recommend using speedtest.net via Ethernet.

If you have any questions, please reply to the thread.

Best Wishes
- Ken

Re: Below Guaranteed Speed again!

If test shows 0.128M-40M Downstream does this mean I am stuck at 40 max?

Re: Below Guaranteed Speed again!

Engineer came and said there was a fault in the street somewhere, 5 minutes late and back up to syncing at 50Mbps!
