BT Wholesale Suspend New Orders for 330Mbps FTTP on Demand Broadband

BTWholesale has confirmed that new orders for the controversial Fibre-to-the-Premise (FTTP) based Fibre on Demand (FoD) product, which offered the potential for anybody within reach of an FTTC capable line to order a full 330Mbps fibre optic broadband connection, have been suspended.

Re: BT Wholesale Suspend New Orders for 330Mbps FTTP on Demand Broadband

Right...
To elaborate:
- There has been an increase in demand, with the current lead times and customer experience not meeting the product specification.
- The stop/sell notice in Market B areas takes effect from 7 February 2015.
- The stop/sell notice in Market A areas takes effect from 10 April 2015.
- The stop/sell will be in effect until 30th April 2015 at the earliest, while the backlog of current orders are cleared.
Some fairly important information that ISPreview missed!!!

I think the GEA FTTC Single Order (i.e. FTTC without the need for WLR) plans are far more interesting Smiley

Interesting.
I'm a bit concerned about a Biz order that we have in place. Lets hope it follows through.

I've only just realised that I've had to log in to see that...sorry Maurice.
It's just a much uglier explanation of the thinkbroadband article below my first comment. AndyH has pretty much summarised the last few paragraphs as the reason why it's being withdrawn.

Same reason my employer's customers are allowed to log onto our web portal I would imagine. Doesn't seem unfair in the slightest; that is a bulletin for BT Wholesale customers which we aren't Smiley

I have no idea who he works for. Wholesale has more customers than just mass-market ISPs though.
Either way it's none of our business, so... Smiley

You can always get a job with a company that does business with BTW - that way, you can get a login.
