BT Wholesale Service Information Landing Page

Afternoon Folks
I've just been on the online chat, but seems like ive been fobbed off, so thought i'd come harass the lovely people here.
For the last 2 or 3 days i've been intermittently getting the following page come up.
http://postimg.org/image/skgmukb63/full/
Some times the connection will come back on its own, other times the modem needs to be rebooted. All devices, wired and wireless on my home network receive the page.
I jumped on the online chat, and the agent asked me if I was on wifi, and told me to change the Wifi channel as this is causing the issue. Obviously this is not the issue, which I told him, so he then asked me to factory reset my router as he thought it was the DNS servers being the incorrect address. I asked him how could they be incorrect if they are being assigned automatically, and that they always remained the same when i've logged into the router to check. His only suggestion was to wait for it to go offline again, and specify different server.
Reading the information on the landing page, I dont think it would point to a DNS issue. Worth pointing out, all the lights remain the same on the modem, so its not dropping the connection to the exchange, all local devices keep their local IPs, and the router keeps its normal WAN IP. Does anyone have any ideas what causes this page to pop up?
Thanks loads in advance! x

Re: BT Wholesale Service Information Landing Page

Are you using a Netgear router by any chance? For some reason when the DNS is set automatically some people get this page intermittently if using some Netgears, which is why the advisor would have asked that.

Re: BT Wholesale Service Information Landing Page

I['ve resolved this issue this evening by manually setting the DNS servers in my netgear router to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (google public DNS servers)

This setting is in the basic settings section under  Domain Name Server (DNS) Address the link http://www.routerlogin.net/start.htm should get you to the router config, the login ID and password are on the bottom of your router if you haven't changed them (recommended)

Alternative DNS servers (and the plusnet ones) are listed here http://www.increasebroadbandspeed.co.uk/uk-isp-dns-server-settings
