Re: BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test Faulty

My upload is giving a false reading:

Upload speed achieved during the test was - 3Mbps
 Additional Information:
 Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps

Other speed tests give a speed of around 17Mbps

Upload speed is correct.

No "further actions needed" messages.

Tested over WiFi and using QOS so I expect those figures.

Re: BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test Faulty

Glad to hear it's working again. I can see some anomalies with upload so will flag those back tomorrow. Thanks for your patience everyone!

@scrookes

Sorry but it still fails for me Sad

Re: BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test Faulty

Further diagnostics working for me this morning (ADSL2+), but having mentioned it not working to @scrookes yesterday I don't know whether it's a coincidence or BTW have done some tweaking behind the scenes (as I mentioned previously I can't remember a time when it wasn't flakey.)

Re: BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test Faulty

I cannot get the OP link to work either.  I've flagged back to BT that @SpendLessTime's circuit is still unable to be tested correctly.

Re: BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test Faulty

Doesn't the first part of the performance test have to be run first to enable the second (diagnostic) part to work?

Re: BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test Faulty

@Strat

I think the reason your upload is failing to report correctly is due to a records issue on BT side (most likely caused by a recent product change).  I have flagged it to BT now and hope to hear back soon.  As you say, the upload speed you actually receive is correct and other testers work fine, however, I'd still like to get BT to fix the records issue.

Re: BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test Faulty

@JayG Yes that is correct.

There are three parts to the performance test.

TAP1: This performs a quick download, upload and latency test. Following the TAP 1, A further diagnostics button is displayed which then allows TAP2.

TAP2: This will complete the performance tests you have all posted on here.  If TAP2 completes but shows a poor performance, TAP3 may then be offered.

TAP3: Speedtest which completely bypasses our network. To access this test the user must change their login on their router to speedtest@speedtest_domain

Kitz has a great post on the performance tester explaining how to use it in detail:
