BT Broadband Availability Checker - views?

Hi Everyone,

Out of interest how accurate do people find the BT Broadband (btwholesale.com) availability checker?

For my line the VDSL range is shown as 27.4 - 41.8 Mbps (clean) and 24.6 - 40.5 Mbps (impacted)

My IP Profile is maxed at 20.6 Mbps. I accept this is the max I can get.

I have had an Openreach engineer visit who found no fault and they suggested those speeds of up to 40 were not possible.

The engineer also stated that it would not make a difference in changing providers.

My line is approximately 1.2km to the cabinet (which is directly outside the exchange).

I wondered if anyone else sees such huge disparities between the checker and actual speeds? It isnt helpful as I know ISPs use the checker when estimating speeds when selling broadband to consumers.

VDSL Range A (Clean)	34.4	20.1

VDSL Range B (Impacted)	33.5	18

My profile is set to "17a" and i get 17mb down when using my PC via ethernet........ kind of weird
