So recently I posted about my connection dropping out, I reported it and things seem to of settled lately. We are preparing the wall for decorating and I noticed that the junction box above our front door where the phone line enters the house has a rusty discolouration on the underside of it. A couple of years ago whilst a TalkTalk customer our line dropped dead and an engineer came out and replaced the junction box due to damp corroding the wires. Is this something that can be fixed without facing a hefty call out charge from Openreach? I know that anything back from the master socket is their responsibility but I have read reports of them charging for issues caused by damp. From what I can see the only way water can get in is along the cable from outside so surely this wouldn't be my fault?
