I seem to have a weird (possible) authentication issue. I currently have a TP-Link Archer C8 router connected to the Plus net supplied modem. IF I ever reset the router, the router is unable to authenticate: the PPPoE fails roughly about 4 times out of 5. Once it does authenticate though, the connection and speed remain quite stable. To eliminate the router as a source of issue, I connected directly to the modem and tried to connect with slightly better results: I failed twice but got on the third try.
While I dont have the logs from the router at the moment (and I am scared to reset the router again for fear of not being able to connect), the logs showed that there was no response from the far end that assigns the actual IP address and DNS after the challenge response is sent..
Any pointers would be very appreciated.
