Authentication Issue - Two Boxes (Openreach and Plusnet)

Hello,

My parents internet has stopped working.

If i connect to the wifi on an apple device a screen comes up. It gives details of the problem on the 582n router. The error is 'Authentication Error'.

My parents have not changed anything. It started a day or so ago.

I have powered off both units several times.

Any suggestions please?

@WelshCake2 Welcome to the forums. I am a little confused - if your parents have a 582n router, what is the 'Openreach' box?

They have always had two boxes.

1 is an openreach box that receives the incoming phone line. This is connected to the Plusnet box by an ethernet cable. I thought it was just an old setup.

Are they definitely on Fibre? and how long have they had it?

Some of the early FTTC connections were supplied with an Openreach modem and a version of the TG582N with firmware modified to make LAN port 4 into a WAN port.
