Attempting to use PPPoE on PS4

Hello, quick question regarding PPPoE. I'm attempting to get a NAT type 1 on my PS4 console by connecting via PPPoE. I have my username and password, and try to connect, but the PS4 always fails to resolve an IP address. I'm sure the username and password are correct because I use them if I need to change something on my router via Telnet. Has anyone else had issues with trying to connect via PPPoE? Thanks.

Re: Attempting to use PPPoE on PS4

If you wish to use PPPoE, is your PS4 connected directly to a VDSL modem such as the ones provided by Openreach ?

Yep, it's hooked up to one of these from Amazon;

The PS4 works perfectly fine otherwise, but I have a NAT type 2. I'd rather just connect via PPPoE if that's possible really.
