Apple ipad issues

I'm getting a ''Safari couldn't connect you because the server  stopped responding'' message when using my ipad and my wife's, i've been having this issue for quite some time now on an older ipad and on my brand new one and it's happening more and more frequently which is driving me mad, more often than not i have to open Settings, disconnecting and then reconnecting wifi,  my router is a Hub1 with what appears to be the latest update, could it be a router problem, if so i'm prepared to leave Plusnet as i am desperate to get over this frustrating problem

Re: Apple ipad issues

@Ronnie66  Welcome to the forum.

The default condition is that the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands are synchronised, which can cause this problem. To separate them see here:  https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/2-4ghz-and-or-5ghz-best-practice/m-p/1351966#M840

If you can't live with a Hub One then save the cancellation charges and spend about £20 on an auction site and buy a BT Smarthub 6. Setting instructions are here: https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/Using-the-BT-Smarthub-6-on-a-Plusnet-Account/m-p/1587673#M85...

Re: Apple ipad issues

Thank you for the advice, much appreciated, i've changed the settings on the router to 5Ghz on one of the ipads to see how it goes.

Re: Apple ipad issues

@Ronnie66

I assume that you mean that you have logged into the Hub and separated the bands then selected the 5GHz transmission on your Ipad?

If you are using the 5GHz band then also note this:  https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/Hub-One-5GHz-WiFi-issue/m-p/1696363#M15510

You might be better using the now independent 2.4GHz one.

Re: Apple ipad issues

Correct, one ipad is connected to 5Ghz and the to 2.4, to see how each one performs.

Thanks for the link, will check it out later
