Apparently my ticket's been with the "QA" team for 2-3 months now along with 2 Openreach visits so personally I don't hold out much hope of a resolution anytime soon

(And no my wireless connection is pretty good, I'm not using that PN router but a Linksys on the 5G network)
A typical day would be around 68/63mbps (last year, this was originally 11.2mb/s on the install date and then it decreased 75, 72 and now 68 - I hate you crosstalk )
Today with the congestion its quite copper-like speeds.
14.88mbps down
7.91 mbps up

It's probably started already.
If u read the info on,even when certain areas are being done it Could affect nationwide.
I'm posting using 3g as nothing at all at the moment.
You're lucky, due to our location we only get 12mbs up & less than 1mbs down on FIBRE when all is running well, apparently due to our location.
We're paying for fibre to get standard speed otherwise it would be pants.
Our Open reach modem gave up last month, expect 3 years tops before that starts to cause problems.
We had no Internet for a week.
Hay Ho.
Plus net are still brill as they always sort faults asap

I didn't see any notice of planned maintenance, the BT one's that were on the site were done last month for our exchange.
I did a reboot of the router, and it just lost internet connectivity - strange
Did another reboot of both router and modem (I read somewhere anywhere between 30 seconds and a minute, DLM will recognize it as a shutdown or something similar) and internet is back
I got connected to the ptn-ag04 gateway and speeds are back to normal. I'm avoiding those BNG gateways as they seem to cause trouble for me...
Tests done with the further diagnosis and the BT speed checker just went directly to TAP3 test (then went to a HTTP 500 page) instead of showing the page of results
Quote Is it normal that on the quiet line test of 17070, I hear continuous retro modem sounds - it is quiet without the speaker mode, but with the speakerphone on has these continuous modem sounds? It was quiet yesterday...

Edit 10:32pm: Speed just bursted to 126.09mbps Um, might be cache?

Quote from: goldenfibre Gateway is heavy congestion tonight. Sort it out PN.
How is that heavy congestion? Speeds are within 10% and latency is under 15ms.

Quote from: elfish Utilisation is pretty insane tonight.
WBC Col 2 graph has reached over 40G previously, it's not even over 35G so far tonight.

As I was going on holiday, I turned off my Plusnet connection using an explicit command
on an Asus router, then turned off the router. I left the Plusnet modem on.
When I came back (yesterday, Saturday), my speed tests were consistently lower than when I left,
from about 65Mb/s to about 57Mb/s, a bit over a 10% drop. The new speed is rock solid, as was
the old one (except when there was manifestly general OR/PN congestion).
I'm not complaining, as I scarcely notice the difference, but I would like to know how one should
turn off the wifi when going away for a week or two, without triggering a speed drop. (Of course lots
of new people may be plugged in to my cab and/or copper connection, just when I went on holiday.
However I'm sceptical they were waiting for my holiday....)
I seem to be on bng01.
