Any way of getting SNR dropped to 3db?

I would like to squeeze more out of my connection and as the snr is set to 6db I was wondering if there is any way of getting the profile set to 3db?

Re: Any way of getting SNR dropped to 3db?

Fix

ISPs cannot adjust the Signal to Noise margin on FTTC lines.

The dB margin is set by Dynamic Line Management (DLM) which responds to errors or lack of errors on the line.

In addition, Openreach have installed two makes of fibre cabinets: ECI and Huawei, to date only the Huawei cabs support the 3dB margin.

If your line  previously had a 3dB margin, this is removed (as DLM is reset to a default profile) when you move ISPs and DLM has to re-apply the lower noise margins.

Regards

Richard

Thanks for getting in touch @chubsta and apologies for the delayed response.

As advised above I'm afraid we can't request for your line to have a 3db target set but DLM may do this for you at some point in the future depedent on if it thinks your line can take it
