Any chance of Fastpath - stats are good

so for over 1 year my MAX ATTAINATBLE RATE has been almost 80Mb but my sync is 66.8Mb and profile must be 60Mbps cos I can't get more than 56Mbps on many tests

this tells me there a stuck profile issue and yes I've tried rebooting daily and its still the same

also, it is the opinion of BTo Engineers that error seconds have to stay 3 or below per hour to enable fastpath..well according to DSL-stats 6.5.9 I'm getting 1 on average per hour : see :-

DSLAM type / SW version:    IFTN:0xb206 (178.6) / v0xb206Modem/router firmware:      AnnexA version - A2pv6F039v.d26a
DSL mode:                   VDSL2 Profile 17a
Status:                     Showtime
Uptime:                     5 days 20 hours 6 min 9 sec
Resyncs:                    0 (since 17 Feb 2021 09:47:13)

                Downstream    Upstream
Line attenuation (dB):      14.1        0.0
Signal attenuation (dB):    Not available on VDSL2
Max: Upstream rate = 24235 Kbps, Downstream rate = 78498 Kbps
Connection speed (kbps):    20000 Kbps       65820 Kbps
SNR margin (dB):            6.1        9.1
Power (dBm):                4.0        4.0
Interleave depth:           1289        1
INP:                        3.00        0
G.INP:                      Not enabled        Not enabled
Vectoring status:           5 (VECT_UNCONFIGURED)

RSCorr/RS (%):              0.0222        0.0298
RSUnCorr/RS (%):            0.0003        0.0000
ES/hour:                    0        2.00

as you can see less than 0.02% of my traffic is corrected and 0.0003% couldn't be corrected (and new request sent)

the low ES/per hour should allow me to use Fastpath, is any chance we can try it as I'm a gamer
Max: Upstream rate = 24235 Kbps, Downstream rate = 78498 Kbps
Connection speed (kbps):    20000 Kbps       65820 Kbps

Re: Any chance of Fastpath - stats are good

I'm in a similar boat, and as I understand it Plusnet have pretty limited tools to influence it - it's largely applied by Openreach's DLM. Their answer will probably be that it's working as intended. In theory, given a stable enough connection, DLM should eventually reverse it itself but how long it needs a stable line to do so is a bit of a dark art: https://kitz.co.uk/adsl/DLM.htm

For what it's worth, rebooting the router daily might be doing more harm than good if DLM is interpreting them as dropped connections?

Re: Any chance of Fastpath - stats are good

Hi @snadge

I agree with @ChrisFox dropping the synch daily will likely confuse DLM.

DLM will regard the disconnections as line instability.

Far better to leave the router in synch for as long as possible.
