Another Speed Issue?

Hello,

It appears I am another customer who has the upload speed capped? BT Speed Test, Speedtest.net show a maximum of 3.02Mbps. BT say "Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps " you can see below I am connected at 10990 / 52414.

On top of that, despite connecting at 52414 and maximum of 60163 - I am only getting an average of 43Mbps down - with an IP profile of 50 according to BT. Despite connected at 52414.

6. Data rate: 10990 / 52414
7. Maximum data rate:

10990 / 60163

Surely something is wrong somewhere? Actually for the first couple of days I was receiving a stable 57Mbps and 11Mbps upload but that seems to have gone now.

No wifi is connected, 1 PC via Ethernet, it was checked last night at 1.30am too so it isn't due to a 'high traffic' period.

Any ideas?

Re: Another Speed Issue?

Just to update 3 days on... I haven't been able to get higher than 44Mb (the minimum for my estimate, see below) BT Speedtest  show IP Profile for your line is - 49.43 Mbps and 49.43 Mbps Max Achievable Speed (which is obviously isn't)

In my PlusNet account - Estimated line speed: 60Mb (This may vary between 44Mb and 60Mb) - Checked on 2016-05-23 14:59:45

First couple of days I was on fibre I was syncing at 60-62 and getting around 57. Nothing has changed my side.. My IP profile is on 49?Huh

Re: Another Speed Issue?

Seriously, no one?

I'll just go ahead and log a fault...

7. Maximum data rate:

10990 / 60163

They show that your upload is not capped, if it was you wouldn't sync above 2Mb/s.

If you're connecting so far below your estimate then a fault is the best way to get this resolved.

Re: Another Speed Issue?

Thank you for the reply, it appears that I am now getting around 8Mb on my upload.

I was estimated a 44-60Mb connection, however I have been receiving an average of 57Mb for days and then a sudden drop of 13Mb?

It is averaging around 43-44Mb now... Are there any more tests that I can do before contacting someone? Any sort of line test? I have had the router plugged into the master socket for 2 days without any improvement.

I'm afraid that as your line is performing with the estimated range, if we tried to raise this as a fault it'd likely get rejected back to us as the line is syncing as expected.

Re: Another Speed Issue?

So it doesn't matter how much my connection speed drops as long as it's within the lowest value estimated?

Screenshot for info (see attached).. Speedtest ran just now using BT. 46 Mbps which is highest I've had in days yet appalling upload again....

Re: Another Speed Issue?

Attached another BT Speed test 2 hours later... Upload fine but download now 33.08...

BT Speed test is also unable to check my line/service? Before it told me the IP profile and estimated speed etc.

And another now using the Test3 (changing my Router username to connect)
