Activation Day: Flashing Broadband Light

Today was supposed to be the activation day of our fibre broadband service, but alas, despite following the required steps to connect the router, all we are left with is the flashing broadband light.
Calling support hasn't been particularly helpful besides being put on-hold, and then being told that technical support would call back an hour later -- they haven't.
Can anyone help troubleshoot what's wrong?
Is it something to do with the username/password like the below:

Sorry to hear you're having problems.
I don't think it's a password issue. A flashing broadband light indicates your router isn't connecting to the exchange. My tests down your line aren't completing, so I've raised a fault with our suppliers to investigate further.
In the meantime, I'd advise running through the checks here and here.

No problems, we'll keep you updated on the fault report I've raised to our suppliers. Let us know how you get on with the checks as I've not identified an external fault, I've just raised the report on the back of the test not completing.

Our suppliers have tested your line and have been unable to identify why your router can't connect. If you've done the checks above, we'll need to arrange an engineer visit.
