Accessing Your Own Local Mail Server Using WAN Address Inside Your Local Network

Hi,
I've had a TG582 fibre router that's served me well with plus.net for three years, but recently it started resetting itself every hour or two.  A call to customer services suggested that it'd had it.
So they sent me one of these plus one routers.
Now, I run a web and mail server on my home network, and it's been running fine.  But, now that I've installed this new router, I'm finding that I can't access the mail server when I'm on the local network.  If I'm outside the local network, everything's fine.
Now, I vaguely remember a few years ago that I had to telnet a previous router when I had the same problem... enable=loopback rings a bell.  But you can't telnet into these routers.  So I'm hoping that someone has a little bit of wisdom?
Thanks in advance!
