Re: Abysmal fibre broadband speed

A BIG apology to Plusnet for even thinking that they were throttling my line speed.

I connected using an Ethernet cable and my speeds magically increased - almost threefold!

So, I have a problem with WiFi but is it the router or my 6-year old Fujitsu laptop?  I guess I need to connect to a router that is known to be delivering high speed connections as a first step.

Thanks for all your help.

Re: Abysmal fibre broadband speed

All is well in Grumpyland Smiley  I reckoned that the inbuilt network adapter on my laptop was a bit ancient so replaced it with a new one.  Problem sorted.

Again, my thanks to everyone who helped me on this problem.

@BigRedSwitch

Good to hear things are fixed.

WiFi reception is a dark art which can be notoriously difficult to fix if poor. Indeed most ISP's will not look at it if your connection  is working fine - it's not their problem unless you can prove a faulty router.
