I've been with Plusnet many years on the unlimited 76mb package but recently noticed that my speed isn't what it once was has my package been downgraded a to 66mb inline with current offerings

I've just noticed the decreased speed, increased price(?) special offer!

Hope they don't apply it to my account.

You'll still be on the same 80/20 package, the latest OfCon/ASA regulations require ISPs to show the average speed of all customers at peak time rather than what can actually be achieved by an individual line although a personalised estimate can be found using the signup process.

So if the internet gets broken, I assume that provided your speed is "above average" then its not broken?

If I buy a dozen apples, should I be satisfied with only 8 apples on the grounds that that is what the average customer accepts?

I'm sorry to hear you are noticing diminished speeds as of late. 

 

I've tried to find your account via the details you provided on your Forum signup, but i'm afraid I am unable to locate any matching profiles in our systems - could you PM me your username by any chance?

 

In the meantime, could you run through our troubleshooting guides here 

 

Can I also ask, is the speed issue solely occurring on wireless connections or wired also?

I've tested your line and can see that you are currently syncing at 79.9 Mbps. 

 

Can you run through our troubleshooting guides here and let us know how you get on?
