website remote download

My website building programme has the option of me downloading my site from the host so that I can then edit it. It will back it up so I don't have to do this but the back up is on another hard drive.
It asks me for my login info, the server, the directory path and the repository path. Obviously I've got the login info but I've tried all the paths I can think of for the rest and got nothing. Force 9 help is as expected not a help at all and I have chased round for the link to 'contact us' which is so well hidden that nobody actually can contact them. They're not daft are they.
Any way I thought I'd give this route a try.
Do you know what the server is for a website hosted by f9
what is the directory path
what is the repository path
Undecided
Thanks,
David.

Re: website remote download

Depends on this method of "backing up" the website that the Software uses.
I am assuming that this is FTP and on "homepages" / "hp" (.force9.net).
I am a PlusNet Customer, so, I am not certain of locations for the force9 setup.
I assume it's the same as it is with PlusNet WWW Space.
That means -
/htdocs = Server root for your space.
As for repository path,
I have no idea what (you / the program) is after with that.. 😕
If you were using the CCGI Platform, I would advise you to use UNIX Tar & GZip,
it's much simpler and easier in the long run to collate exactly what you want, each time, with a small script.
Hope that helps.
Jim,
