I recently left Plusnet to go with another provider and can no longer host my website on Plusnet but my domian os still registered with Plusnet.
I have tried to point my domain to a free hosting website using the DNS 'A' records but have not had any luck.
Any pointers on how to do this ?

Your 'www' and 'home' A records are working and pointing to 31.170.X.X
The record to point the root of your domain to the same IP is not working because it's missing a qualifying dot at the end of the left-hand field. I've just corrected this for you.
The other half of the procedure will depend on the hosting provider you're using but they'll need some knowledge of your Plusnet domain in order to serve your web content correctly.
