phpBB user passwords not working

A lot of users (but not all) on my phpBB forum cannot log in using their chosen password. Even I had to request in new password for my Admin account.
Anyone else getting a problem with this?
I'm on humbug. EDIT: Oops. I'm not on humbug, I'm on RUMPUS.

Have you made any changes to phpBB? e.g. upgraded it?
