I'm using Dreamweaver to build a new web site and trying to upload the index page, but keep getting the plusnet web page.
Advice from plus net was -
I have checked the files that have been uploaded and it appears that Dreamweaver has uploaded the files for you but it hasn't created a new .html file hich means the Plusnet holding page is still in use.
Can anyone help me?
Adrian

You need to log into your webspace via FTP and delete the index.html file (I suspect dreamweaver has uploaded index.htm - because our platform is unix based it chooses .html files if there's both). To do this:
Open My Computer
In the address bar, type ftp://ftp.plus.net and click go (or hit enter)
At the password prompt, enter your username and password in the same way as if you were logging into the plusnet website
Open the htdocs folder, in here you should be able to see all the files in your webspace
Delete "index.html"
Now try going to your site. If it still doesn't load, try re-uploading everything from dreamweaver.
Hope that helps,

I of course agree with Matt
however as a fellow Dreamweaver user I'll add this:
You can use Dw to view the file structure on the server - then delete the superfluous index files - .htm or html
Dw can show both local and remote files ( on the server ).
If you need more help with doing this with Dw - post again.
