Hello!
This may just be me being daft, this is the first fancy website i have created.
I havent uploaded my site yet, so i am viewing it in internet explorer 7 to preview it. When i view it on another PC, it asks to install the active X gold bar to make my Spry menu work. Now i know lots of people who never allow these "gold bars" to do anything. But my main menu navigation needs it to work!
Is there a way i can get round this, or am i going to have to put a note on my nice clean homepage saying "Please allow this to work!"
Any help would be great,
Thanks, Nicole

linky The Active X Alert bar only appears on pages that you preview of your desktop computer--in other words, if you put the file up on a Web server, you can view the page without that seeing that warning. You can also get rid of that warning for the pages on your desktop by adding the "mark of the Web" command: in Dreamweaver choose, Commands-->Insert Mark of the Web. See the Tip on page 231 of my book for more information on this.

Many people treat an invite to install an Active-X control with the same enthusiasm as "would you like to install a virus".
Anyway, only Windows users could execute your program.

Thank you, that seems to work!
Just on the side, It also seems to "switch off" my links to the rest of my pages, is that right, and only going to happen on my desktop PC?
Thanks,
Nicole

I only found the first answer using Google
Unless you can Google it yourself I can only suggest trying it and see what happens

I just hate these Spry menus introduced in Dreamweaver CS3 - nebies see them and think they are the only way to produce menus !
I just use css style menus - much easier once one has learnt some html and css.
</rant> sorry

For lots of menus go to www.cssplay.co.uk
You will be amazed what can be achieved with a bit of css.
