Yes, I am: 530 Login incorrect. when connecting to ftp.plus.net.  ccgi.name.plus,com is fine, and I'm using the correct password.

Re: ftp errors - anybody else?

In case it helps with troubleshooting at PlusNet Towers, it is definitely account specific. I have just ftp'd into my brother-in-laws account without any problem.

Re: ftp errors - anybody else?

Hi all

While investigating if there was a pattern to this, we did notice a number of errors when logging in via a particular servers.  These have now been removed from service and we cannot see the errors, so this should be resolved.

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues logging in.

Re: ftp errors - anybody else?

@Beyhive  Filezilla is still refusing connections for my account. I can connect to ftp.plus.net without any problem on another account so the problem still exists.

Re: ftp errors - anybody else?

@adamwalker  No. The last error from Cumulus was:-

03/05/19 19:00:04 : FTP Connect Error, Error code = 530
03/05/19 19:00:34 : FTP Connect Timeout

Filezilla just now failed with:-

Response:    530 Login incorrect.
Error:    Critical error: Could not connect to server

Filezilla a few seconds later connected to another plusnet account with:-

Status:    Logged in
Status:    Retrieving directory listing...
Status:    Directory listing of "/" successful

Re: ftp errors - anybody else?

Thanks for the detail.

Could you try logging into the FTP server using a web browser instead letting us know how it goes?

Re: ftp errors - anybody else?

@adamwalker I have been able to connect now BUT I did so by using my old password. As mentioned earlier, I have changed my account password and have sent/recd email and logged into member centre using the new password and could see that the update had been pushed to my router. My understanding was that the same password should also work when logging into ftp.plus.net. Is that not the case?

p.s. @Gandalf   Yes I can log in with Firefox but once again with my old password. Do I set my ftp password elsewhere?

Re: ftp errors - anybody else?

@longedge, thanks again for the detail. Discussing this with @adamwalker, the FTP password should be your current account password so I've raised a task with our infrastructure engineers to investigate this and we'll update you when we know more within the next 3 working days.

Re: ftp errors - anybody else?

@Gandalf  I would guess that one of the actions taken today was to rebuild a corrupted database with an old backup after I had changed my account password, that may be the reason that I can now get access with my old password. Perhaps passwords are only propagated on being changed.

If it helps, I don't mind doing a further change to test but I'll leave it now to see what tomorrow brings.

For now I've got full access using two different passwords Smiley

It's possible, we'll see what our engineers come back with but let us know if you notice any further developments Smiley

Mine started working again late last night, with no errors since.

Re: ftp errors - anybody else?

@Gandalf Thanks for the update to my ticket on this subject. I wonder how many others have fallen foul of the "known issue" that account password changes don't propagate to the ftp platform Smiley - anyway I've got the answer now Thumbs_Up
