Where are you trying to install SMF to? Is it your own box/our CGI servers/the PAYH servers?

I have the SMF folders and files uploaded to my PlusNet CGI space using my ftp program. I'm assuming that the install file would link up to MySQL to complete the installation of the SMF forums, but as mentioned I get the error message.

Managed to solve the problem but I'm afraid I couldn't say how - just constant trial an error I suppose. I think I will keep away from things I'm uncertain about. I'll be sure to make regular backups now. Thanks.
