I have a site that is currently hosted on a windows server. It's been there years and to a point is fine and dandy there.
The snag is that i can't use .htaccess as it runs on IIS
As you can imagine, thats a bit of a pain. IIS does offer its own version but its a mind bender to understand.
So.. can I get the ccgi platform to handle my domain somehow? - I'm not seeing any domain config pages etc so can't get the webserver to accept requests for it.
I'm not really in a rush, I just wondered if this is generally available to ccgi users or not. If it isn't, the site can just remain where it is.
Only reason i'm asking is the current url is a bit... complicated!

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Any DNS records for ccgi hosting are held within your Plusnet account.
If your current account has a hosting allowance it should be possible to do a Hosting Only transfer of the domain to Plusnet (see the How to transfer a domain guide). Once hosted you would add DNS records for the domain pointing to the ccgi server and raise a ticket to request an alias be set up on that server pointing the domain to your ccgi webspace.
Within your webspece .htaccess is used to (logically) locate the domain wherever you choose (eg into a subfolder of /public).

It's really only this bit i was interested in... i don't have the domain with plusnet - it's registered at 123-reg and the nameservers are afraid.org's where i get my dns managed - thats why i was wondering if its possible to have the domain alias'd here so i could just set the A record.
I'm not overly worried though... my current hosting is free anyway..
