ccgi - FTP not recognising username or password.

I can access files on my ccgi hosted web site using http.
Trying to access the ccgi server by FTP (using WS_FTP) gives login incorrect and puts up a dialog asking for it to be re-entered. Typing username and password in again does not help.
It has always worked before (for years) - last access 17th November.
Anyone else experiencing similar difficulties?
Tony

Obviously not RESOLVED for me..

Re: ccgi - FTP not recognising username or password.

That problem was file-system rather than login related and was fixed on 31 October. Since you've accessed the server since then the present problem is unlikely to be related.
I've just tried using FileZilla (Force9 ccgi server) using passive mode and login worked fine for me.
Do you have an alternative FTP client to try? If that gives the same error I suggest raising a ticket.

Re: ccgi - FTP not recognising username or password.

Thanks for the reply spraxyt.
Woops - I mistook the date for yesterday (last day of November rather than October).
I have tried a netbook computer as well - same 550 Incorrect login. I can FTP to homepages without any problems.
I tried Passive mode as well - no joy.
I have now downloaded and tried Filezilla using the quick connect - again no joy. I used cshell.force9.net, username, password and port 21.

Response: 530 Login incorrect.
Error: Critical error
Error: Could not connect to server

I have raised a ticket.

Re: ccgi - FTP not recognising username or password.

A ticket definitely seems appropriate. Infuriating when access is denied. Sad

Re: ccgi - FTP not recognising username or password.

Have you changed your password since it last worked? If so have you tried your old password?

Re: ccgi - FTP not recognising username or password.

@jelv - no, my password has not been changed (by me).
As the password is remembered by WS_FTP on both computers I have tried, there should be no probelm with that.
The rest of the WS_FTP settings are also stored, so have not changed either.

sorry, first chance I have had to post, just couldn't get back here yesterday.
Whatever the issue is, is on the F9/PN side of the fence
- likewise couldn't get ccgi access on F9 earlier yesterday and raised a ticket #62861032 [1.42pm 01/12/12].
like Tony, hadn't changed any settings or passwords this end
error messages shown were as below
530 login incorrect
alternating with
10054 connection reset by peer
Ticket hasn't yet been replied to, and having just tried re-accessing, got same error messages as above.  Hopefully Networks will be able to sort this out on Monday 😕
Regards,
Penny.

Thank you so much Penny.
Just knowing that I am not alone with CS assuming that it is a problem at my end is such a relief.

Re: ccgi - FTP not recognising username or password.

No consolation to either of you but FTP login to the Force9 server still works for me.

@spraxyt - are you a business user? I know that both Penny and I am. I wondered whether that may be the difference.

No, I'm residential using Plusnet Extra on ADSL2+ with webspace inherited from a legacy package.

Re: ccgi - FTP not recognising username or password.

In another topic Gabe is saying that one of the PN ccgi cluster is down. I doubt if it is related, but anything flakey in the system might affect things.

Looks like I'm back there - I am still getting the same 530 Login incorrect on both of my computers.
