Zippyshare blocked?

Im wondering are Plusnet now actively blocking Zippyshare.com?

Its a file hosting website its likely used for piracy in some way but most people use it for legit reasons and since around thursday myself and most people in the uk are getting a 403 Forbidden error.

Is this a nationwide block or an issue with the filehost? i can view the website perfectly fine via VPN which suggests its being blocked.

I think it's an issue with ZippyShare - I can access it with an overseas VPN but not when that VPN is routed through a UK server.

So you need to reach out to them in some way and ask why they are blocking uk traffic.

Never used it myself, though posting to confirm it's also forbidden.

If this helps, it does look like something in France, possibly onwards...?

Just tried on my phone data (not Plusnet) and get a 403 forbidden there too.

From my server company ...."403" is actually an HTTP status code that means that the web server has received and understood your request, but that it cannot take any further action. UK Block, maybe.

I see on Virgin Media they have the same problem although someone says they can access it on PN and Vodafone (which seems a little strange as my phone ports via Voda). There is supposedly a fix here #6

it's blocked by zippy not by any party in the uk though - otherwise you wouldn't even get a 403

The usual countrywide block would have a message saying so.

So as said I assume it's being blocked at source.

But if that were the case you wouldn't be hitting a 403 error on an ubuntu server?
Also VPN servers aren't subject to blocking so should be able to access it.

I was merely pointing out that if it's on Wiki, then it must be true, so I have to believe it!!

Ah, now it makes sense. I've been attempting to visit zippyshare.com for the past 20 minutes or so and couldn't work out what the problem was. I deleted my cache cleared cookies etc and checked the site was up with https://downinspector.com/check/https://www.zippyshare.com. They've blocked Germany and Spain along with the UK too.

Hopefully, there's a decent quality free VPN I can use.
